Weekly Research Briefing: Ups and Downs

While the week's and weekend's news flow continued at full throttle, some financial markets have begun to take notice. Some of the more intriguing moves as the S&P 500 volatility index jumped above 20 twice in the last week include a 20% retreat in Gold, a 40% pullback in Silver and a now 40% drawdown in Bitcoin from its highs. The entire energy complex has also threw up some epic U-turns led by the $3 to $5.50 to $3 move in natural gas as US and European weather systems cause panic.
