Cheng Wang
Cheng is a Managing Director in the Portfolio Management Group.
From 2007 until joining Hamilton Lane in 2026, Cheng was a Managing Director with the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, where he focused on Private Equity funds and co-investment activities, as well as secondary and other structured transactions. Previously, Cheng worked at WestLB Asset Management and Alignment Capital Group and was focused on private equity fund investments. Cheng was a civil engineer and certified real estate appraiser in China.
Cheng received an M.B.A. from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, a M.S. in Financial Mathematics at the Florida State University and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from TianJin University in China. He is a CFA charterholder.
