Moore named to Real Deals’ “Future 40 Diversity and Inclusion Leaders” List

BALA CYNWYD, PENN. – Nov. 18, 2020 – Leading private markets asset management firm Hamilton Lane (NASDAQ: HLNE) announced that Katie Moore, a managing director on the firm’s Relationship Management team, was named to the “Real Deals Future 40 Diversity and Inclusion Leaders” list for 2020.

This distinction, hosted by UK PE publication Real Deals, in association with Private Equity Recruitment (PER), showcases key individuals in the asset class who have made or are making a notable impact on improving diversity and inclusion practices across their firm and the wider industry. The list highlights professionals at private equity and venture capital firms who are working to make a true difference in how the industry engages with gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, disabilities and wider D&I policies.

Mario Giannini, Hamilton Lane CEO, commented: “As a founding member and the leader of our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council since 2016, Katie has been a tireless advocate for the advancement of underrepresented groups within the private markets. Today, I can proudly say that 50% of Hamilton Lane’s global employees are women or ethnically diverse. That doesn’t just happen by accident, especially in our industry, and that is a data point that is due in part to the work of individuals like Katie.”

Moore commented: “This is a great honor. I am thankful for the recognition, while acknowledging that there is still much more to be done. As leaders within this industry, we at Hamilton Lane believe we have an obligation to be proactive in creating pathways for female and diverse candidates to enter, and to offer a culture and framework to support and retain them. We do that through programs like our Undergraduate Women’s Summit, our Campus Outreach Program and Analyst Development Program, as well as through internship partnerships with organizations such as Girls Who Invest, Cristo Rey Philadelphia and SEO Alternative Investments.

Equally important as these outward and formalized initiatives is our focus on ourselves, and our culture, through elements such as our newest corporate value – ‘Promoting Equity and Inclusion from Within’ – and our strategic plan aimed at expanding upon existing efforts to intentionally embed diversity, equity and inclusion into the fabric of the firm.”

Hamilton Lane was also recently recognized by Private Equity Women Investor Network (PEWIN) as International LP of the Year for 2020. The award is given annually to an outstanding institutional limited partner who has demonstrated a commitment to encouraging and supporting female investors in the private equity industry.
