"Gaining access to private equity following an undergraduate degree is very rare, especially with a firm as highly regarded as Hamilton Lane."

-Sam Grace, ADP class of 2015

What are the roles?

Investment Analyst Analysts work across all of our investment teams (Fund Investments, Secondary Investments, Co-Investments, Real Assets and Direct Credit) in a role that progressively grows in responsibility and accountability over the three-year period.

  • The Fund Investment team identifies and reviews private markets fund managers. Fund Investment team members conduct due diligence, screen new investment opportunities and contribute to private markets research reports. They are exposed to the world’s best fund managers.
  • The Secondary Investment team is primarily responsible for the sourcing and evaluation of investment opportunities in existing private markets funds. Secondary team members evaluate secondary investments by conducting research and due diligence on the underlying portfolio companies and firms. The secondary market is one of the fastest-growing segments in the global private markets asset class, with a high demand for talent.
  • The Co-Investment team is responsible for evaluating direct investment opportunities in private companies. They monitor and report on existing investments as well as research and analyze new opportunities as part of a "Deal Team." Co-Investment team members support senior "Deal Captains" and are exposed to the industry’s most elite General Partners.
  • Real Asset team members conduct due diligence and screen new fund investments, secondary and co-investment opportunities in real estate, agricultural land, infrastructure and oil, for example, across the globe. Real assets present an exciting diversification option because of their relatively low correlation with financial assets such as equities and debt instruments.
  • Direct Credit team members source, evaluate, analyze and value underlying credit and investment opportunities, perform underwriting analyses and prepare memoranda for the Investment Committee. They continuously monitor existing investments in our portfolios, as Direct Credit is a rapidly growing investment strategy across global markets.
