Investment Process

Our due diligence approach is continually refined and enhanced with the goal of successfully identifying and selecting top performing fund managers. This process is multi-tiered and places significant emphasis on those elements of risk and financial analysis that distinguish private equity from other asset classes.

Hamilton Lane’s comprehensive due diligence process has five basic steps:

  1. Screening
  2. Initial manager meeting
  3. Questionnaire
  4. Site visit
  5. Final investment report
